Characteristics
Thallus
slender cylindrical stolon that give rise to erect and decumbent branches
above and coarses short and simply-branched rhizoids below; axial
branches are cylindrical to compress upto 8.5 cm tall, 05 to 0.8 mm
in diameter bearing pinnately to sometimes alternately arranged filiform
pinnules which are denser at lower to the middle, wanting at terminal
and basal portion of the axis; these are 0.7 to 4.6 mm long slightly
attenuate ending in truncate or mucronate tips; the stichidia (inflated
branches bearing tetrasporangia) are borne on the swollen tips of
the pinnules.
